Students’ satisfaction with flipped classroom learning during COVID-19

COVID-19 pandemic has changed all aspects of people’s life with its positive and negative impacts on the world. In particular, this pandemic led to tough challenges for education. Following the recommendations of the Health organizations and public restrictions, almost all Iranian universities and schools have adopted Online teaching and learning to prevent the transmission of this virus. Among remedial strategies proposed, flipped classroom learning has been used during this pandemic. Flipped classroom is an approach that focuses on students’ engagement and active learning. In this strategy, Online lectures and instructions are introduced to students at home, and peers and group-based problem solving occur in school. This study is aimed at investigating the extent to which the students are satisfied with this strategy. Accordingly, quantitative research was adopted in addition to administration of a standard questionnaire, designed by Hamzeh Haghighi among 200 students in girls’ guidance schools in Ilam Province through social networks. The sample was selected randomly, and the obtained information was analyzed via SPSS19. The results of the study showed that the students were satisfied with flipped classroom learning, also they agreed about the role of these classes in decreasing the students’ fear and tension. In addition, the students were dissatisfied with the role of flipped classrooms in motivating the students to take the subjects more seriouslY.
