چکیده مقاله
The 2019 Coronavirus pandemic has triggered significant changes in education systems worldwide. The Iranian government has decided to adjust the education mode from face-to-face to online meetings using various learning management systems (LMS) such as Adobe Connect and Navid. Prompted by this change, the purpose of this quantitative study was twofold: a) to investigate Iranian ESP medical students' perceptions of the use of the Adobe Connect and Navid platforms and b) to examine the difference in students’ perception based on gender. The sample of this study was 60 ESP medical students (30 males and 30 females) at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. The instrument was the adapted version of the questionnaire on the students’ perceptions towards the use of online language learning platforms, originally designed by Bagata, Umamah and Fikri (2020). The questionnaire has a five-point Likert scale which is used to answer students’ perceptions of the use of online learning platforms. The data were collected online through Google form in the first semester of 1399-1400 Iranian educational year. The results of the study showed that ESP medical students’ perception of the use of the Adobe Connect and Navid online learning platforms were positive. The finding was also showed that there is a significant difference between male and female of the use of the Adobe Connect and Navid online learning platforms. Female students’ perspective was more positive than males in the use of the Adobe Connect and Navid online learning platforms.
