چکیده مقاله |
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect and compare the training of emotional intelligence skills and successful intelligence skills on reducing the level of English test anxiety of 11th grade male students in Ahvaz. The statistical population included all 11th grade male students in Ahvaz. The sampling method for determining the sample was cluster random method. First, one district was selected from 4 districts of Ahvaz and then three schools were selected from that district and one class was selected from each school. Each group was assigned (two experimental groups and one control group); The first experimental group underwent 11 sessions of emotional intelligence training based on Bradbury and Graves model, translated by Ganji (2005), and the second experimental group under 21 sessions of successful intelligence training based on Sternberg and Grigorenko model (2007) translated by Cheraghi, Obaidizadegan and Fooladvand (2011) and the control group did not receive training. The Phillips Test Anxiety Inventory (PAQ) was used to assess test anxiety. Data analysis was performed by analysis of covariance. The results showed that the training of emotional intelligence skills reduced the test anxiety of the students in the experimental group compared to the control group. Also, successful intelligence training has reduced the test anxiety of the students in the experimental group compared to the control group. The results of this study also showed that teaching emotional intelligence skills to students had a greater effect on reducing test anxiety than the successful intelligence group. |
