چکیده مقاله
In this study, the teacher-researcher reported her life-long teaching/learning experiences as mapped on her roles within English language education in the context of Iran. In exploring the world of English Language Teaching (ELT), the present researcher decided to carve into her past to describe her professional roles/realities including a language learner, language teacher, and a language researcher. Using Life- history narratives, she embarked on her almost twenty-five year language education experiences initially as a language learner, into language teacher, and finally into a language researcher. Aimed at verifying/authenticating her role conflicts as it became revealed to her taking her souls into her next roles only over a long time-span, she discussed her mis/conceptions against eventual expectations, which helped her to turn into a critical figure in the end. This article has implications for professional identity formation for an English language teacher as mapped on recent narrative accounts for an English language teacher.
